doctor’s english language competency to be able to get registered to work as a doctor. the general medical council has just announced it is to routinely accept an additional test as proof of english language skills from overseas doctors who want to work in the uk. the gmc medical regulator will start accepting the occupational english test (oet) from now, while maintaining a requirement for a high standard of english. as an alternative to the international english language test system (ielts) that up until now was the only test accepted by the gmc, the oet is designed for healthcare
